Plant Maintenance Manpower in Pakistan
Fitters, technicians, electricians, welders and helpers on an ongoing contract — the maintenance crew that stays with your plant, learns it, and is there on the shift the machine stops.

What an ongoing crew gives you
- People who know your plant and its history
- Breakdown cover on every shift, including nights
- Planned maintenance that actually gets done
- Replacement without losing plant knowledge
- One monthly invoice instead of a payroll
The maintenance trades a plant runs on
Maintenance is the one department where the person matters more than the headcount. Someone who has seen your compressor fail twice is worth three people who have not.
| Trade | Typical work |
|---|---|
| Mechanical fitters | Pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors — dismantling, alignment, reassembly |
| Maintenance electricians | Motor and starter faults, panel work, breakdown attendance, preventive checks |
| Instrument technicians | Field instruments, loop checks, calibration support, control panel work |
| Welders & fabricators | Repair welding, fabrication, piping and structural work on running plant |
| HVAC & utility technicians | Chillers, AHUs, boilers, compressed air and water systems |
| Lubrication & condition monitoring helpers | Greasing rounds, oil changes, routine checks against your schedule |
| Maintenance helpers | Trade support, tool and spares movement, housekeeping around the job |
| Shift supervisors | Work allocation, handover between shifts, job records and your point of contact |
For a scheduled overhaul with a fixed window, the model is different — see shutdown and turnaround manpower. Single trades on their own are covered on welder supply and electrician supply.
A campaign crew and a maintenance crew are opposite problems
A turnaround crew is hired for a window, works flat out, and leaves. Nobody expects them to know the plant. An ongoing maintenance crew is the opposite: its entire value is accumulated knowledge — which pump runs hot, which panel has the loose terminal, which job always takes longer than the manual says.
Which means the thing to optimise is not the rate. It is retention. A contract that churns people every few months gives you a crew that is permanently new, and a plant that keeps relearning the same lessons. We build the roster, the pay position and the supervision around keeping the same people on your site.
Working hours, rest intervals and overtime sit under the factories legislation applying at your site — the Factories Act 1934 in Punjab and Islamabad, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Factories Act 2013, the Sindh Factories Act 2015. We confirm which applies before quoting, because it shapes the shift pattern.
Six things an ongoing contract has to get right
None of them exciting. All of them the reason a maintenance contract lasts years or ends in six months.
The same faces
Retention is the whole point. We would rather hold a crew together than quote the lowest rate and replace it twice.
Breakdown cover on every shift
Nights and weekends included, because that is when things fail and nobody is around.
Planned maintenance actually done
Routine work has to survive the week production is behind. A supervisor who protects the PM schedule is worth his salary.
Job records kept
What was done, by whom, when and how long it took — so the history exists after the person leaves.
Tools and spares, settled
Who supplies which tools, and who draws spares from your store, agreed at quotation rather than argued later.
Your permit system
Isolation, permit to work and site safety rules are yours. Our crew works to them and attends your induction.
This is a manpower contract, not an outcome contract. We do not promise uptime percentages, response times in minutes or a reduction in breakdowns, because those depend on your plant, your spares and your maintenance strategy far more than on us. What we commit to is the right trades, on the agreed shifts, with cover when someone is absent.
From plant visit to a crew on shift
The first month decides whether this becomes a long contract.
Plant visit
Equipment list, shift pattern, breakdown history, PM schedule and the trades you actually need.
Crew plan and quotation
Trade mix per shift, supervisor cover, relief arrangement, and the tools and spares position.
Recruitment and trade testing
Each trade tested on the work your plant runs, with CNIC verification and references.
Mobilisation and handover
Crew on site, inducted to your permit system, and walked through the plant by your own engineers.
Steady state
Attendance, payroll, statutory filing, relief and replacement stay our job. You get a monthly report and one invoice.
Ongoing contract, or recruited onto your payroll
Most plants run a mix — a permanent core of engineers, and the crew beneath them on contract.
| Ongoing contract | Permanent hiring | |
|---|---|---|
| Whose payroll? | Khawaja Manpower’s | Yours |
| Salary, attendance, EOBI & social security | We handle it | You handle it |
| Absence and relief cover | Included | Arranged by you |
| Replacement | Included for the contract term | Within the agreed guarantee period |
| How you pay | One monthly invoice | One-time recruitment fee |
| Best for | The maintenance crew and shift technicians | Maintenance engineers and your own supervision |
Tell us the trade mix, the shift pattern and the contract length, and we will tell you honestly which model costs less over a year.
The plants that run this way
Every one of them has the same underlying problem: maintenance headcount is hard to hire and harder to keep.
Textile mills and processing units
Continuous running, high wear, and a breakdown that stops a whole line.
Chemical and process plants
Rotating equipment and utilities that need attention on every shift.
Cement and building materials
Heavy equipment, dusty environment, and planned maintenance that is easy to postpone.
Food and beverage plants
Hygiene constraints on top of mechanical work, and short maintenance windows.
Packaging and light manufacturing
Many small machines rather than a few large ones, so breadth beats depth.
Utilities and power generation
Shift-based cover where an outage is measured in money per hour.

What stays on your side
Maintenance strategy, spares planning, technical supervision and the decision about what gets fixed when all remain yours. We supply the hands and the supervision of those hands — not the engineering judgement behind the programme.
We do not publish uptime or response-time commitments. A supplier promising you a percentage improvement is promising something controlled mostly by your spares store and your plant’s condition, not by the crew.
Our office is in Rawalpindi, closest to the twin cities, the Taxila–Wah corridor and the GT Road industrial belt. We run contracts at plants elsewhere in Pakistan, with accommodation and transport agreed in writing where the site is remote. We supply inside Pakistan only and we do not supply security guards.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from shutdown manpower?
A shutdown crew is hired for a fixed window and leaves. A maintenance crew stays, and its value is the knowledge it accumulates about your plant. Different hiring, different roster, different contract — which is why they are separate pages.
Will we get the same people every month?
That is the objective, and we build the roster and supervision around it. Retention is the whole point of an ongoing contract — a crew that churns gives you a plant that keeps relearning the same lessons.
Can you cover night shifts and weekend breakdowns?
Yes. Shift patterns including nights and weekends are built into the crew plan, with relief for absence. That cover is usually the main reason plants move from ad-hoc hiring to a contract.
Who provides tools and spares?
Agreed at quotation and written into the contract. Technicians normally carry basic hand tools; specialised tools, instruments and spares are usually drawn from your store. We settle it in writing rather than leaving it to assumption.
Do you guarantee reduced breakdowns or a response time?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Those outcomes depend on your plant condition, your spares and your maintenance strategy. We commit to the trades, the shifts and the cover — the things we actually control.
Who employs the crew?
On the ongoing contract model, we do. Written contracts, bank-paid salaries, attendance, EOBI and provincial social security all sit with us. On permanent hiring you employ them directly and pay a one-time fee.

Plants normally run two or three of these alongside each other.
Arrange a plant visit
Send your equipment list, shift pattern and the trades you need. We visit the plant, then give you a crew plan, the tools and spares position, and a quotation.
