Non-clinical hospital support roles
Every role below is a support role. None of them is a clinical role, and that boundary is deliberate — see the section on what we do not supply.
| Role | Typical duties |
|---|---|
| Ward attendants | Patient mobility support, bed making, ward upkeep, errands between departments |
| OT attendants & helpers | Theatre turnaround cleaning, trolley movement, supply runs, under theatre staff direction |
| CSSD helpers | Receiving, sorting, packing and transporting instrument sets, under CSSD supervision |
| Patient transporters | Moving patients between wards, imaging, theatre and discharge |
| Sanitation & housekeeping staff | Wards, OPD, corridors, washrooms and isolation areas, to your cleaning protocol |
| Waste handlers | Segregation, collection and transport of hospital waste to the designated point |
| Laundry & linen staff | Soiled linen collection, laundry operation, clean linen distribution |
| Kitchen & dietary helpers | Hospital kitchen support, tray assembly, distribution and collection |
| Front desk & records helpers | Reception support, file movement, queue and visitor management |
| Supervisors | Roster, attendance and area checklists, reporting to your administration |
For reception, billing and administrative positions on your own payroll, see office staff recruitment.
We do not supply nurses, and we will not blur that line
Nursing, midwifery, health-visiting and nursing-auxiliary roles are reserved to persons registered with the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council, formerly the Pakistan Nursing Council, which regulates practice under the Pakistan Nursing Council Act, 1973 as amended in 2023. Under section 23 of that Act, government and government-aided hospitals may not employ unregistered persons in those roles, and under section 24 it is an offence for an unregistered person to hold themselves out as registered.
So every role we supply is a non-clinical support role, and the duties written into the contract say so. Our staff assist; they do not perform clinical tasks. Where exactly that line falls in your facility is set by your clinical leadership and written into the scope before deployment — because a boundary agreed in writing is the only kind that holds at two in the morning on a busy ward.
This costs us some enquiries. It is the right answer anyway, and any supplier who tells you otherwise is a risk to your licence, not an asset to your roster.
What we brief, and what remains yours
Your SOP governs. Ours only prepares staff to follow it from the first shift rather than the third week.
Colour-coded cleaning
Separate cloths and equipment for washrooms, patient areas and general areas, briefed before deployment and applied to your zoning.
Cleaning protocol by area
Routine, discharge and terminal cleaning handled differently, to the method your IPC team specifies.
Waste segregation
Hospital waste handling follows the applicable rules — the Punjab Hospital Waste Management Rules 2014 in Punjab, the Sindh rules in Sindh, alongside the federal Hospital Waste Management Rules 2005 — and your own waste SOP.
Immunisation position, written down
Sindh’s rules provide that Hepatitis B vaccine should be offered to employees managing hospital waste. Beyond that it is hospital policy and contract specification, so we agree it with you rather than assume it.
PPE and who supplies it
Gloves, masks, aprons and footwear — settled at quotation, because an unclear PPE position becomes an incident.
Verification before deployment
CNIC verified through NADRA, references checked, and police character certificates arranged — we recommend them for every hospital placement.
Khawaja Manpower holds no clinical or hygiene certification, and this page claims none. Your facility’s licensing and standards — whether under the Punjab Healthcare Commission’s Minimum Service Delivery Standards, the Sindh Healthcare Commission, or your own accreditation — remain yours. Our job is to supply support staff whose documentation and briefing stand up when those standards are assessed.
From walkthrough to a staffed roster
Hospitals are the one environment where a rushed mobilisation genuinely causes harm, so this is deliberate.
Walkthrough with your team
Beds, departments, theatre count, OPD load, waste route and the areas each grade will work in.
Staffing and roster plan
Headcount by department and shift, supervisor cover, and a named reliever pool for absence and holidays.
Scope and SOP alignment
Duties written down department by department, with your IPC team confirming the boundary on clinical tasks.
Recruitment and verification
CNIC verification, references, police character certificates, and the immunisation position as agreed.
Deployment and review
Staff in uniform with a named supervisor, then a monthly review against the checklists your administration signs off.
What we supply, and what we do not
The second column is the more important one in a hospital.
| We supply | We do not | |
|---|---|---|
| Ward, OT and CSSD attendants and helpers | Yes | — |
| Sanitation, housekeeping and waste handlers | Yes | — |
| Patient transport, laundry, kitchen helpers | Yes | — |
| Front desk and records helpers | Yes | — |
| Nurses, midwives and nursing auxiliaries | — | Reserved to PNMC-registered persons |
| Doctors and clinical technologists | — | Not supplied |
| Any clinical task by support staff | — | Outside the agreed scope |
| Security guarding | — | Separately licensed; not offered |
| Biomedical equipment servicing | — | Not offered |
Where a hospital asks us to stretch the first column into the second, the answer is no — and we would rather say it at quotation stage than during an inspection.
The facilities that use this
Each has a different load profile and a different standard to meet.
Teaching and tertiary hospitals
High bed count, multiple theatres, round-the-clock OPD and emergency load.
Trust and charitable hospitals
Cost-sensitive, high volume, and usually audited by donors as well as regulators.
Private corporate hospitals
Patient-experience standards as demanding as the clinical ones.
Diagnostic centres and labs
Smaller teams, strict sample-handling and cleaning discipline.
Clinics and day-care facilities
Multi-role support staff covering reception, cleaning and errands.
Nursing homes and rehabilitation units
Longer patient stays, more mobility support, steadier rosters.
Registered with the bodies that matter
We are a registered Pakistani company and a registered employer. Incorporation, tax and statutory registrations are all in place, and the documents are shared directly with clients during vendor prequalification.

What we will not overstate
We do not describe our staff as “trained” in infection control as though they hold a qualification. What is true: they are briefed on colour-coded cleaning, waste segregation and area discipline before deployment, and then work to your SOP under your supervision. Any formal training your IPC team requires is delivered by your team, and we build the time for it into mobilisation.
We do not claim that Hepatitis B vaccination of support staff is legally mandated in Pakistan, because the position is narrower than that. We agree the immunisation and screening position with you in writing at contract stage, and we meet what your facility specifies.
Our office is in Rawalpindi, which is where mobilisation and replacement are fastest — the twin cities and the surrounding hospital catchment. We staff facilities in Lahore, Karachi and other cities on request.
Frequently asked questions
Do you supply nurses?
No. Nursing, midwifery, health-visiting and nursing-auxiliary roles are reserved to persons registered with the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council. We supply non-clinical support staff only, and the duties in the contract are written to keep that boundary clear.
How do you handle infection control?
Staff are briefed before deployment on colour-coded cleaning, waste segregation and area discipline, then work to your hospital’s own infection-control SOP under your supervision. Your SOP governs — ours only prepares them to follow it from the first shift.
Are your staff vaccinated against Hepatitis B?
The immunisation position is agreed with you in writing at contract stage and we meet what your facility specifies. We do not claim a blanket legal requirement exists in Pakistan, because the applicable rules are narrower than that — Sindh’s hospital waste rules, for example, provide that the vaccine should be offered to employees managing hospital waste.
Can you provide round-the-clock cover?
Yes. Three-shift rosters with a named reliever pool for absence, weekly off and public holidays, because a ward cannot go uncovered on Eid. Shift timings and supervisor arrangement are fixed before deployment.
Who verifies the staff before they enter our facility?
We do. CNIC verification through NADRA, previous-employer references, and police character certificates — which we recommend for every hospital placement rather than treating as optional.
Will the documentation hold up in a regulatory inspection or an accreditation review?
The employment records we maintain — contracts, attendance, bank-paid salaries, EOBI and provincial social security — are produced on request. Your clinical standards and licensing remain yours; what we supply is support staff whose paperwork does not become the weak point in that review.
