Bank Branch Support Staff in Pakistan
Office boys, messengers, housekeeping and front-desk support for bank and financial-institution branches — verified to the standard a bank expects, and rolled out branch by branch across cities.
Khawaja Manpower (SMC-Private) Limited — a registered Pakistani company
What a bank asks before anyone enters a branch
- Who is this person, verified at source
- Has anyone spoken to the last employer
- Is there a police character certificate on file
- What exactly are they allowed to handle
- Who replaces them tomorrow if they do not turn up
Branch support roles
Every role below is a support role. None of them handles customer accounts, and none of them is a cash-handling position.
| Role | Typical duties |
|---|---|
| Branch office boys | Tea and water service, file movement, photocopying, stationery, customer area upkeep |
| Messengers & runners | Document and envelope movement between branches, regional office and clearing |
| Housekeeping staff | Banking hall, customer area, washrooms, back office and ATM lobby cleaning |
| Front-desk support helpers | Queue management support, form assistance, visitor direction, token handling |
| Record room helpers | File retrieval and refiling under supervision, archive movement, boxing and indexing |
| Pantry attendants | Staff and visitor refreshments, pantry stock and hygiene |
| Area supervisors | Multi-branch roster, attendance, cover arrangement and your single point of contact |
For administrative and back-office positions on your own payroll, see office staff recruitment. Verification of candidates you are hiring directly is covered on background verification.
Verification here is not a formality
A branch support worker moves through the banking hall, the back office and sometimes the record room. They see customers, documents and the inside of a regulated business. Banks therefore ask more of a staffing supplier than almost any other client — and they are right to.
So for branch placements we treat police character certificates as standard rather than optional, we speak to the previous employer rather than accepting an experience letter, and we record the permanent and current address with a local reference where one is available. Every worker’s CNIC is verified before deployment, and the file is available to your compliance team.
We also keep the scope narrow in writing. Our staff do not handle cash, do not operate systems, and do not deal with customer account matters. Where a bank wants a support worker to carry a deposit or a cheque, that has to be a documented instruction from you with your own controls around it — not an informal arrangement at branch level.
Six things a multi-branch contract has to solve
One branch is easy. Forty branches across three cities is a different exercise.
Hiring near each branch
Staff recruited from the branch’s own area, because a long commute is what makes a replacement necessary three months later.
Cover that reaches every branch
A reliever pool positioned by cluster, so an absence in one branch does not leave it unstaffed.
One attendance format
Across every branch and city, with a named submitter per branch and one cut-off date.
Multi-province registration
Branches in different provinces register with different social security institutions. Place of work decides, not head office.
A file your compliance team can read
Verification records held per worker and produced on request, branch by branch.
Scope in writing
What each role may and may not do, agreed before deployment rather than interpreted at branch level.
Guarding and cash escort are separately licensed activities and we do not hold that licence. Our branch staff are support staff. Any instruction that would turn a support worker into a cash carrier or a guard needs to come from you, in writing, with your own controls — and we will say so rather than quietly agreeing to it.
From branch list to a staffed network
Banks normally pilot one cluster before extending to the network.
Branch list and scope
Branches by city, roles per branch, timings, and exactly what each role will and will not do.
Verification standard agreed
Which checks apply, who holds the files, and what your compliance team needs to see.
Recruitment near each branch
Shortlisting from the branch catchment, with CNIC verification, references and police character certificates.
Pilot cluster
A first group of branches staffed and run for an agreed period before the rollout extends.
Network rollout
Remaining branches staffed cluster by cluster, on one contract, one attendance routine and one invoice.
What our branch staff do, and what they do not
The right-hand column is the one your risk and compliance teams will read.
| They do | They do not | |
|---|---|---|
| Tea, pantry and customer area upkeep | Yes | — |
| File and document movement within the branch | Yes | — |
| Housekeeping of hall, back office and ATM lobby | Yes | — |
| Queue and visitor direction support | Yes | — |
| Handling cash or valuables | — | Not a support-staff role |
| Operating banking systems or terminals | — | Never |
| Dealing with customer account matters | — | Never |
| Security guarding or cash escort | — | Separately licensed; not offered |
| Access to the vault or strong room | — | Outside the agreed scope |
If your branch operations need something in the right-hand column, it belongs with your own staff or with a licensed security contractor — and we will tell you that at the outset rather than after an incident.
The institutions this is built for
All of them regulated, all of them audited, all asking the same questions.
Commercial bank branch networks
Multi-city rollouts where the standard has to be identical in every branch.
Microfinance banks and institutions
Dense branch networks in smaller cities, with high cover requirements.
Islamic banking branches
Same support needs, with the bank’s own conduct standards briefed before deployment.
Insurance and leasing companies
Branch and service-centre support with comparable verification expectations.
Exchange companies and financial services
Smaller premises, tighter access control, and a very narrow scope by design.
Regional and head offices
Larger support teams alongside the branch network, usually on the same contract.
Registered with the bodies that matter
We are a registered Pakistani company and a registered employer. Incorporation, tax and statutory registrations are all in place, and the documents are shared directly with clients during vendor prequalification.
SECP

EOBI

Provincial social security
PESSI, SESSI, IESSI or ESSI — registered by the worker's place of work
FBR
Federal Board of Revenue — tax registration and proper tax invoices
Companies the Khawaja Manpower group has worked with
Three decades of manpower, outsourcing and payroll work across energy, engineering and industry — for operators who audit their vendors before they appoint them.

What we will not agree to
We will not let scope creep happen quietly. The most common request we receive from branch level is for a support worker to carry a deposit, collect a cheque or stand in for absent security. Each of those changes what the person is, and the risk sits with the bank.
We will not claim our staff are trained in banking operations. They are briefed on conduct, confidentiality, customer-area behaviour and the limits of their role. Anything beyond that is briefed by your own branch managers.
Our office is in Rawalpindi, so the twin-city cluster is where cover and replacement are fastest. Networks in Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Peshawar and elsewhere are staffed on request, with registration following each branch’s own province.
Frequently asked questions
Do your staff handle cash?
No. Branch support staff do not handle cash or valuables, do not operate banking systems and do not deal with customer account matters. The scope is written into the contract precisely so this is not left to interpretation at branch level.
Is police verification included?
For branch placements we treat it as standard rather than optional, and we arrange it before deployment. The verification file for each worker is available to your compliance team on request.
Can you staff branches across several cities on one contract?
Yes — one contract, one attendance routine and one invoice. Behind that, each branch is registered with the social security institution applicable to its own province, because registration follows the place of work rather than your head office.
What happens when someone does not turn up?
A reliever pool is positioned by branch cluster so cover reaches the branch the same day. Replacement from the standby list is included for the contract term, so your branch manager does not run a recruitment exercise.
Do you provide security guards for branches?
No. Guarding and cash escort require a separate provincial licence which we do not hold. That part belongs with a licensed security contractor.
Can we start with a few branches before committing to the network?
That is the normal route, and we recommend it. A pilot cluster run for an agreed period tells both sides far more than a presentation does.
